The Reverend Mary Ann Macklin, Senior Minister, retired

Senior Minister Reverend Mary Ann Macklin (in ministry to us 2002 to 2022*) is grateful to have served such a vibrant and generous congregation. Reverend Macklin identifies as a humanist mystic or a mystic humanist, depending on the day.  She prefers parsley to cilantro, Star Trek to Star Wars, realism to cynicism, and Mary Ann to Ginger.

Reverend Macklin and her beloved life partner, Deborah, have been together for over 25 years and now enjoy legal married status in the state of Indiana. Deborah is a music therapist, composer and hospice nurse. They share a home with several four leggeds, including Hodor the shaman puppy.

Reverend Macklin’s favorite quote is “Life is a paradox, and then again, it’s not.” Her personal vision is the same as the congregation’s: Seeking the Spirit, Building Community, Changing the World.

* Reverend Mary Ann Macklin completed 20 years of ministry with our congregation in June 2022, when she resigned to pursue other professional interests.
